Steve is moving along.

We are proud to tell everyone that our one and only Wizard of all things FFN, Steven Oder has been accepted to the graduate program of film production at the University of Central Arkansas and will be starting this fall. We are super proud of Steve and we will miss his presence both on stage and in all of the incredible recording abilities he possesses that have allowed us to do so many things on our own.

Steve and Mike started FFN close to a decade ago and it's hard to imagine the band without him, but neither he or the rest of us want to see the end of the band. We are as of yet unsure who will take his place on bass, but we hope he knows that he is and always will be a member of Frontier Folk Nebraska.

Steve has recorded all our records and has been the interesting part of nearly everyone of our songs and it's going to take some serious chops to fill his space. We love him dearly and wish him and Lanette all the best in their new life. He will still be finishing the mixing of our 3rd record after he moves and he continues production on a documentary about the band titled There Is No One In The Truck.

He will be playing his final show with us at the Whispering Beard Folk Festival in Friendship, IN the weekend of August 23-25.

Steve, we love you to death brother,

FFN

Them's the brakes.

Big thanks to all the help we received this weekend in Lexington from Daniel and Brandi and our families for bringing reinforcements after our brakes failed on the truck and we ended up in a tree. Could have been worse in countless ways, so we move on as we always do; all in. Thanks to Chris Warman and all at the Paddy Wagon in Richmond for having us back again as well.

Lima, OH July 6 and Fountain Square in Cincinnati, OH July 9

All that said we've got quite a bit of vehicle repairs to take care of and if you've been putting off purchasing any and all things FFN we hope you'll go for it now. Treat yourself, you know you want to. MP3 Albums available here. VINYL LP is for sale on this blog. Please go for it. Much obliged.

CHECK YOUR BRAKES OFTEN! DON'T DRIVE AT ALL IF THEY START ACTING FUNNY!

Frontier Folk Nebraska available as DIGITAL DOWNLOAD on Bandcamp!

On Tuesday April 9th our Self Titled 2nd album will boldly leap into the 22nd century when it becomes available for the first time as a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD!

Pick up a digital copy, or a vinyl LP here: www.frontierfolknebraska.bandcamp.com

It was released on No Chaser Records in November 2011 as a vinyl LP, and we still hope plenty of folks will pick up the remaining copies from the limited pressing but we also hope that far more of you out there will be able to enjoy it while motoring away or at your desk at work, or while you enjoy a walk around town through your headphones.

We continue to work on the follow up album as well as a documentary about the band. Please help us spread the word about the new availability of our 2nd album and about FFN in general. Thanks to everyone for listening. Hope to see you all soon.

We're recording a NEW RECORD! and look for our Self Titled Record in your local independent record stores soon.

Hey there Frontier Folks, it's been a while since we updated this here blog and we want you to know it's because we've been busy working on our 3rd yet to be titled record. We're hashing it out FFN style, which means we record it ourselves, guided by our brilliant Steven Oder, in a studio that isn't really a studio.

Currently we're working on overdubs. We've got 15 tunes, though likely only 10 will make the final album. Some we've been playing for the past year or so, but most are yet to be played outside of the basement as we captured their births on computer tape.

We just played a couple shows last weekend in Cincinnati and Richmond and we'll be doing other regional weekend shows while we continue to work the new songs out, so keep a look out for pop up shows in the months to come.

We're also super excited to announce that our Self-Titled Record will soon be distributed nationally thanks to the incredibly helpful hard work of our friend and fellow Kentuckian Mr. Daniel Martin Moore. More on this story as it comes. For now please have a listen to that album as well as our debut, Pearls over on our Bandcamp page. You can even buy one there if you're so inclined.

We continue to work on a documentary as well about all things FFN. More on that as it develops.

Thanks for listening. Please play our record for a friend. See you soon.
